Favourite Things

Favourite Things

Set to the music of “These are a few of my favourite things”...

Walking on beaches and picking up seashells,
Cows moving slowly while tinkling brass bells,
Edelweiss growing and
Birds on the wing,
These are a few of my favourite things!

Gazing on mountains in lush countryside,
With panoramas so beautifully wide,
Breathing in pure fresh air,
Is it no wonder my happy heart sings,
These are a few of my favourite things!

Wide open windows
While curtains move lightly,
Giving me peace while
Dividing Your Word rightly,
Sitting in Granny’s old armchair,
I love to ponder as I sit and stare,
Remembering blessings each day brings,
These are a few of my favourite things!

Waking up early to see the sun rise,
Reading my Bible to make one wise,
Praying to Father on bended knee,
While talking to Him my eyes do not see,
Again my heart bursts forth
And then joyfully sings,
These are a few of my favourite things!

Talking to my Best Friend and
Laughing a lot,
We share it all while we inter-relate,
God is always there and never late,
One day we will fly without any wings,
These are a few of my favourite things!

Sitting in meadows
Quite full of flowers,
Basking in sunshine
While admiring our tree,
Loving that You’re always with me,
These are a few of my favourite things!

Picking some cherries
As well as the blue and black berries,
Enjoying some now while crisply fresh,
Others I drop into bags of mesh,
These are a few of my favourite things!

Giving to others and
Helping the poor,
Cheerfully giving
Making it more,
Gold coin donation let’s fill it up,
Here is the tin for our LifeNets cup,
These are a few of my favourite things!

Getting together
With brethren worldwide,
Meeting together
With those by our side,
Fellowshipping in unity,
With potlucks and Ladies High Tea,
These are a few of my favourite things!

CHORUS:
When the trials start,
When I’m stressed out,
When things take longer,
When I make a mess,
I simply remember that You’re always there,
And then I don’t feel so bad.
