Colorful Musical Notes

God's Nightly Serenade

From where do I show Thee,

Is it dwelling within me,
An der schönen blauen Donau,
Austrian Johann Strauss blaú.

From Waltz of the Flowers,
Is it in Tchaikovsky,
Swaying, playing for hours,
Fine rhythmical filigree.

From Marriage d'Amour,
Chopin's Spring Waltz grandeur,
Bright shimmering purity,
Gives welcome security.

From moments with Mozart,
Which took and held beating heart,
Precise and classic, Ačiū
Wolfgang Amadeus knew.

From Gustav Mahler's flute trills,
Symphony seven thrills,
Great musical architect,
Of Viennese intellect.

From Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt,
Morning Mood is thrilling,
Heralding horns gold glint,
Listening ears willing.

From Händel's Messiah,
Dramatically composed,
Symphonic masterpiece via
Orchestral perfection disclosed.

From Franz Peter Schubert,
His floating Serenade,
Long after broken heart hurt,
Appreciated and played.

From King David's ascents,
Found written in the Psalms,
Splendiferous contents,
Held firmly in our palms.

From all around me You show,
Musical pieces so deep,
Ständchen sends off to sleep,
Where harmonic prayers do flow.
