It Is What It Is

It Is What It Is

There is something to be said,

From words of those not yet dead,
Such as "it is what it is",
Relating to our own biz.

So you think you're a wiz,
Perhaps you say whizzy whiz,
Don't get your mind in a tizz,
Or your hair matted in frizz.

Wrinkly wrinkles and grey hair,
Can give some such despair,
Hair dye and mucky make up,
Please don't dip from that cup.

It is what it is, it is what it is!

Here and there paunches and flab,
Nobody likes granny grab,
Apron folds hanging a bit,
Gravity not helping kit.

It is what it is, it is what it is!

Strength and stamina long gone,
Takes true grit to mow our lawn,
Pottering about preferred,
Pacing oneself has occurred.

It is what it is, it is what it is!

Forget gymnasium fun,
Gentle walking is done,
Exercise is household work,
While we can, we do not shirk.

It is what it is, it is what it is!

Nanna naps during the day,
If it helps then that's the way,
Bedtime we still hit the hay,
What more can we oldies say?

It is what it is, it is what it is!

A quiet life on the porch,
Rocking back and forth,
Bowls of soup such as bortsch,
Keeps the plumbing humming.

It is what it is, it is what it is.

Hello my new friend fibre,
Throw away your diaper,
Celery, nuts, fruits and bread,
Sourdough black one she said.

It is what it is, it is what it is.

If you don't have a laugh,
You will cry, splutter and barf,
Better to knit, paint or sew,
We don't want to hear woe.

It is what it is, it is what it is.

If the shoe fits, we wear it,
Swapping good looks for wit,
Clothes too tight look a fright,
So we do try as we might.

The best part of senior life,
Trying to be a good wife,
Learning Proverbs 31,
Diligent duty plus fun.

It is what it is.
