North wind blowing,
Grass not growing,
No more mowing,
Life is slowing.
November haze,
Lazy hot days,
Under front porch,
Sizzle and scorch.
Oppressive heat,
Sweaty burnt feet,
Footwear busted,
Can't be trusted.
Above ground pool,
Keeping us cool,
Cold water tub,
Low like a sub.
Hands left and right,
Blowies in sight,
Plastic swatter,
Yell out "got her!"
Dusty places,
Dirty faces,
Never you mind,
People are kind.
Magpies crowing,
Feathers showing,
Toing, froing,
Keep on going.
