Eudunda Silo Art

Moving On Out

Moving, going, leaving,
Picking, packing, stacking,
Shifting, lifting, sifting,
Boxing, sorting, wrapping.

Going up to the country,
Where the air is fresh and fine,
Birdies perched in fruit trees,
Perhaps one shall be mine.

Eudunda is the name,
Not many live up there,
Peaceful life to the claim,
We hope it will be fair.

Well under a thousand,
Living the rural life,
This wide, brown homeland,
Happy husband, happy wife.

Thiele, name of author Colin,
Famous Storm Boy Novelist,
Movies included Blue Fin,
"Tea-Lee" — now you get the gist.

Eudunda quiet rural village,
Twilight years for us,
Beautiful sunset image,
Thank you very much.

Town lookout at the top,
Silo art and rolling hills,
Cop shop near the Op shop,
Where distant treasure thrills.

Plenty sheep in these parts,
Grazing slow on the land,
Ready to steal our hearts,
And a steady hand.

Bakery goods and caffeine,
Famous for their German cakes,
Tasting Indian cuisine,
Even liquorice milkshakes!

IGA is our "Corner Store",
Library by the school door,
Newsagent, Hospital, more,
Post Office 5374.

Freshest free range eggs to buy,
Hens clucking, scratching, peeping,
Eager to boil, poach, and fry,
Can not wait for the reaping.

Then there's outdoor swimming pools,
People know where I will be,
Summertime blue water cools,
Exercising fun and free.

This is all we need,
Wanting nothing more,
Freedom plan indeed,
Exit July 4.

What else can now be said,
About this North-East move,
We'll have our storage shed,
Praying it will be smooth.

God opened just one door,
As rising rent made us poor,
Now we know where to go,
God willing, seeds to sow.
