God’s inspired Word, the Holy Bible, provides us with incredible wisdom if we indeed read and absorb what God desires to bless us with. The vast majority of people in the world shun this knowledge, scoff at it as fools do (Proverbs 1:22; 15:12; and 24:9), and even outrightly reject the truth saying it is like a fairy story, a myth, a fable, and unbelievable — all to their peril! Why? Because they are deceived by God’s enemy the devil, also known as Satan, Adversary to all of God’s children. The enemy is the one who has imprisoned people and continues to hold them captive with his evil and diabolical lies. Try telling people this and the response received is always predictable — they deny it and are unable to see the deception. The devil has been doing this for thousands of years and is an expert in covert deception to the degree of subtlety that escapes detection unless one is fully tuned in to God. The deceived will not be able to break free in this lifetime unless they repent of their sins and turn to God fully in order to change their lives completely. All things are possible with God (Matthew 19:26) and impossible when done on our puny, human strength.
This is what scripture in Romans 1:18-32 says that we should take great notice of…
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonour their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due [speaking about homosexuality, various STDs and AIDS].
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them”.
This is a mouthful of God’s wrath and a lot to digest. It explains why things are the way they are presently. God will only put up with so much — He has been perfectly patient and long suffering but there are limits. We are seeing and hearing of some of the consequences now from the sins of modern day man. Psalms 14:1 and 53:1 sum it up succinctly…”The fool says in his heart, ‘there is no God’”. Imagine being told that you do not exist when you know you do, but not only that, the created beings whom you have designed and made, tell you otherwise. It is absolute madness! Ahhh but God’s people know with 100% certainty that there is indeed God who created all and everything we see and do not see, this vast, great, limitless universe with countless stars in never ending galaxies, the moon, sun, and planets, animals, birds, trees, flowers and plants, seas with all their sealife, mountains and meadows, and God’s pinnacle of creation — humanity, humans made in the image of God — including you and me! (Genesis 1:26-27).
There was no “Big Bang” instead of Creation, there is no such thing as evolution with man’s image linked to apes — what an outright insult to God by teaching this to children with impressionable minds. Everything else that man has decided for himself such as global warming, multiculturalism as we know it, how to quarantine in reverse which is opposite to God’s laws when the vast majority of people have not been quarantining properly before COVID-19, for these are all fanciful and prideful notions fraught with diseased and rotten seeds planted firmly in the minds of people down through the ages designed to trick and deceive others by the devil. He has succeeded in his vile deception as so-called brilliant human minds have decided that skewed scientific evidence [or lack thereof] should overthrow God’s wisdom.
Science is taking a long time to catch up with the Bible and God’s ways. My personal view is that science will never catch up to God in this life because humans are incomplete and, even in their best situation, fall woefully short in every way including physically, emotionally, psychologically, mentally, cognitively, and also especially spiritually. Those who deny God’s existence have truly shown themselves to be simpletons and fools — they do not come close to acknowledging Him, let alone even begin to realise God’s awesome divinity (Psalm 10:4). We know His ways are so much higher above our ways as we can read about this in Isaiah 55:8-9. Humans are incredibly foolish when compared to God’s thrilling genius, however He loves us despite our weaknesses and wants us so much to succeed in resisting our carnal, prideful ways. God lovingly sees our future potential rather than focusing on our weaknesses and this is something that should instill a deep sense of gratitude.
Next time you walk along the beach and pick up some shells, or hike along any trails, just have a good look at what you have there before you whether it be flowers or animals or shells and think about how these were made. We can paint a picture or sketch out a drawing with talents we have been given by God but we cannot stand there and speak anything into existence from nothing. God created what we see all around us. Could it be that some of us are used to seeing what we have seen all of our lives, have become quite accustomed to what is around us, and are therefore desensitized? Perhaps we do not question or examine closely enough to admire the intricate patterns, shapes, and overall design of just one tiny shell that looks like a shimmering pearlescent treasure? We do need to slow down and take the time to marvel at the creation and know that God did all of this for us so that we could benefit from everything He gave to us. People need to regularly get out of their homes and workplaces to appreciate God’s creation and give grateful thanks. It is high time to do this now while we have the opportunity in these pandemic times. The local parks, beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and picnic spots are waiting for you to enjoy the natural environment that has plenty of clean, fresh air to breathe as you ponder God’s gifts to humanity which are there to enjoy for all, even those who do not acknowledge Him.
Since the creation of the world God has been rejected repeatedly by mankind due to the influence of the devil. There are those who have no intention of following God in this lifetime and that is their choice. However, for those of you who have wandered off the straight and narrow path, who may be waiting for the “right time” for which now has come...isn’t it time you turn your life around and tell God you are sorry for your part and that you are willing to repent from sin and change? God is waiting for you to do this so He can embrace you in His arms just like one father did all those years ago when his prodigal son returned home after wasting his life in sinful living. Whatever you do, please read all about this account in Luke 15 because you will learn much for your benefit. If you feel lost, not sure what to do, have concerns and anxieties which lead to fear, and know something isn’t right with your life — especially with how rapidly the world is changing and things just don’t make sense any more — then perhaps you will read a story about yourself where the wayward child with tears in their eyes will ask and seek forgiveness from God our Father who is just waiting to give to you the biggest and longest embrace as you return home.
