Throw away your selfies,
Ditch that dreaded disease,
Remove objection to
Internal inspection.
It's what's on the inside,
Not what's on the outside,
Deep in the heart and mind,
What will you see and find?
Only God knows, He cares,
For the wheat and the tares,
Walking past the mirror,
Stop, slow down, get nearer.
Taking a long hard look,
According to our Book,
The Bible says wake up!
Therefore time for close up.
The first chapter in James,
Reminds us of our aims,
Not just listen but do,
Doers — means me and you.
Don't look and walk away,
Examination day,
Is every hour,
Lean on Helper power.
Our Helper is within,
Activate from therein,
Listen, allow to lead,
Apostle Paul did plead.
Times of discouragement,
Ask for encouragement,
Deuteronomy do,
God will never leave you.
Isaiah, Matthew, John,
We cast our eyes upon,
Joshua, Hebrews too,
1 Chronicles with you.
Take a look at yourself,
Through the Bible off shelf,
A good lingering look,
Always reading your Book.
